Art and creating for me has always been and will be for future days to come, a search for the beautiful and the sublime in nature. I find my inspiration in and around the Georgian Bay Area where I live, as well as annual sketching trips to northern Ontario.
My work consists of mainly landscapes painted in an impressionistic style using short, thick brush strokes on wood. I prefer painting en plein air(outside) on location when I can, but other times I’m in my studio painting from a reference photo or sketch.
I’m a member of Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts in Collingwood, Ontario and you can find some of my pieces there to view and purchase in person.
In my life I have struggled with mental illness. My work reflects a glimpse of escapism from present day adversities and provides a type of healing which I hope people will feel through my work.
